This is the only portrait I have done so far. I had to paint Lauren to work through my own grief. She is the daughter of a dear college friend. Lauren was born with pectus excavatum and had surgery to correct it as an adult. Sadly, she did not survive the surgery, leaving behind her husband and two young sons (ages 5 and 2). When I gave this painting to her parents, they shared with me that Lauren had always wanted to have her portrait done, but never had until now. We all cried, again.
