Hey there, Subscriber!
It seems that October launches the busiest time of the year. What with Yom Kippur, football games, and Halloween, before we dive into Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas and New Years. So, why not throw a few classes and exhibitions into the mix?
My adult classes started this week. As in all the classes I teach, my goal is to share basic oil painting practices that apply to all art making including representational and abstract. That includes many of the guiding principles I wish I knew when I started painting. I've got a great group of students, and we had fun exploring the color wheel and how to use it as a guide to color mixing. Next week we'll dive into the value of values (aka lights and darks).
A few of my paintings are hanging in local curated exhibitions:
Two exhibitions are hosted by Fine Arts League of Cary:
- Tart's Grocery is available and hanging now through December 31 at Margaux's in Raleigh.
-
The Greeter is available, and hanging now through January 9 at The Mayton in Cary.
And, I'll have two beach scenes hanging in the Professional Division at the NC State Fair October 13 through 23.
Be sure to read my email on October 27 for my big announcement. Hint: it's about my available beach paintings!
Take good care and stay safe!
